Quality Assurance For Juice Of Florida Oranges

All citrus fruits must be allowed to ripen on the tree. Unlike other fruits, oranges will not ripen once picked from the tree. Florida Citrus farmers need to sample a selection of their crop from a specified parcel of the grove. The juice of the fruits from that parcel are squeezed to generate a sample which is tested in a lab for the two primary things that make orange juice what it is, they are: complex sugars, and citric acid. The juice from the sample must exceed or meet minimum standards before the remaining oranges from that grove can be harvested. More info: Orange Juice Florida
