Special Jobs Requiring Election Or Appointment

There are many quasi-political jobs that people are not aware of. Many people know that a County Sheriff is elected, however there are many other political jobs such as a Texas railroad commissioner. These positions may be appointed, elected by the public, or elected by members of groups such as a railroad Union.

Often you will have to have experience within the industry to be elected or appointed to the position. Why would you elect somebody to run a Law Enforcement agency when the person has not previous law enforcement experience? If you want to work one of these special positions then you need to get as much experience as you can by working and learning as much as you from the ground up.
