Vaccinations For Travelers: Safety Abroad

Vaccinations are often required for travelers vacationing abroad and are an important step to ensuring safety and health outside of the United States. See your doctor one to two months before you depart to ensure that vaccines are given in the proper time frame. Some vaccines must be taken in a series and others require time to become effective. Travelers to sub-Saharan Africa and the South American tropics generally require vaccinations for yellow fever, meningococcal meningitis and other diseases. Other routine and recommended vaccinations are suggested for travel to other parts of the world but are not required. The vaccinations you need will also depend on your age, season of travel and general health. More info: vaccination San Jose
